Quirky little castles like this one have existed in my inner landscape for years. Maybe since we met Ian (O) Casey so long ago in Ireland, in his tipsy tower? Or maybe before, when I saw the tree castles at Wood Haven. I'm not sure when I began sketching them, but recently I realized I'd like to see them up close and really explore their twists and turns. A few have popped up over the years in other pieces, but lately many more of these castles are finally are coming into the light of day, emerging like fairy toadstools after a rain. Look for them at the Royal Medieval Faire.

Castles of Air and Water
